Description: Don’t miss this opportunity to purchase discounted tickets in advance for the 13th Annual Celebration of Mad About the Arts. The benefit will take place on Friday, February 20 at the McDonough Museum of Art. This year’s Friends of the Arts preview reception, which begins at 6:30 pm, will feature Brady’s Leap, a new-Celtic band, along with select hors d’oeuvres and beverages. Brady’s Leap, a local favorite, is comprised of five musicians, four of whom are YSU faculty and staff. The main event from 7:30 - 10:30 pm will feature the Second Avenue Band, a group of eight exhilarating players, which includes four graduates of Dana School of Music. They will provide classic renditions of Rhythm and Blues, Swing, Jazz, and Top 40 - everything to keep you dancing! An exceptional selection of wines, champagnes, and microbrews will be featured along with hors d’oeuvres and desserts provided by, The Bone Bucket, Cassese's MVR, Clarencedale Cake, Giannios Candy, Tropea's Fine Pastry, Winslow's Cafe, Markko Vineyards, Mastropietro Winery, Struthers Beer, Wine & Spirits, Thirsty Dog Brewery and more! Promotional assistance is provided by City Printing, The Metro Monthly, Trinkle Signs, 27 First News and Fox 17/62, Prodigal Media, WYSU 88.5 FM, Mix 98.9 and 570 WKBN. Flowers from Edward’s Florist will enhance the evening’s atmosphere. On display during this event is the much loved and long awaited 2009 Alumni Exhibition. This exhibition honors Department of Art graduates representing over thirty-five years of art education at YSU. Mad About the Arts benefits both SMARTS–Students Motivated by the Arts and the McDonough Museum of Art, a Center for Contemporary Ideas, Art, Education, and Community.
