Ruby is a 3-year-old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix. Megan Perencevic Calvaruso of Youngstown found her in May 2010 on the city's East Side. She coaxed Ruby into her car, cleaned her up, took her to the vet and took her home to enjoy life. She adds: "Many Boardman residents may recognize Ruby's picture as she was a "lost dog" for five days last July. Not long after Ruby was adopted my husband and I took Ruby over to my parents' home in Boardman. While we ran errands, Ruby escaped their fenced in backyard. My father, sister and neighbor chased her on foot and by car but lost sight of her near the Boardman Public Library. We immediately started a campaign to get Ruby back. Over 1500 posters were printed and hung in virtually every business and on every telephone pole in Boardman. Five days later, I received a call from a Boardman police officer saying she spotted Ruby on Roche Way in Boardman. I spent the next four hours canvassing the neighborhood. Then, after hours of searching, I saw two cars stopped up ahead on the road. Seconds later, Ruby appeared. I couldn't believe it. I called her name, she came running and we have never been apart since. I found this dog ... twice!." Ruby is a 3-year-old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix.
