NOTEBOOK
From Heinz Field
Series: For the first time since the Browns joined the National Football League in 1950, their overall series with the Steelers is tied: 55-55. The Browns still have a two-game edge in regular-season games. The Steelers won both playoff games (January 1995 and January 2003).
Injury: Browns left guard Joe Andruzzi injured his knee in the first half.
Replay challenge: Late in the second quarter, Steelers coach Bill Cowher challenged that Browns quarterback Derek Anderson fumbled after defensive end Aaron Smith forced the fumble and made the recovery. Referee Bill Vinovich upheld the challenge, giving the Steelers the ball at midfield.
Home sweet home: Steelers running back Willie Parker has rushed for 100 yards five times this year. All five games were at Heinz Field. The Steelers offensive line was so dominant that Parker's backup, Najeh Davenport, ran 14 times for 62 yards. In all, the Steelers had 303 yards on 52 tries.
Blocked field goal: Browns lineman Alvin McKinley was credited with a blocked field goal in the second quarter after he shoved Steelers tackle Trai Essex backwards and Jeff Reed's kick glanced off Essex's helmet.
Quarterbacks: Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger passed for 225 yards by completing 11 of 21 tosses. Santonio Holmes led the receivers with four catches for 81 yards. Browns quarterback Derek Anderson completed 21 of 37 passes in his first NFL start.
