Westminster stays hot, tops Penn-State Behrend



Ryan Gerber scored a career-high 23 points to lead Grove City to victory.

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. — Dom Joseph and Chauncey Whitlow scored 12 points apiece, and Westminster shot 52 percent from the floor as the Titans defeated Penn State-Behrend, 73-55, in a non-conference basketball game Monday night.

Craig Hannon and Nick Adams added 11 points each for the Titans (4-4), who have won three straight games and four of their last five. Steve Bielich added 10 points.

Westminster was 27-of-52 from the field, including 13-of-19 inside the 3-point arc. The Titans were just 14-of-33 on 3-pointers.

Penn State-Behrend (5-3) was led by Tom Newman with 14 points, while Kevin Buczynski added 11 points and nine rebounds. David Gahan also reached double figures, scoring 10 points.

Grove City 76, Kenyon 70

GAMBIER – Ryan Gerber scored a career-high 23 points to lead Grove City in a non-conference game.

Craig Hallman added 16 points for the Wolverines (3-4), while Ryan Gibson had 12 points and six assists. Joe Capotosta scored 10 points.

Bryan Yelvington led Kenyon (5-5) with 22 points and 12 rebounds.

Bethany 86, Penn State-Altoona 64

ALTOONA, Pa. — Brody Jackson scored 19 points and Ryan Besancon added 14 for Bethany in a non-conference game.

Besancon also had 11 rebounds for the Bison (6-3), who led 41-22 at halftime. Chris Stephens added nine points and six assists.

Dziabo Quntin had 18 points and four rebounds for Penn State-Altoona (1-7).

Women

OBERLIN — Becca Gasiewicz scored 14 points and Katie Kesler added 12, as Allegheny routed Oberlin 60-44 in a North Coast Athletic Conference game.

Jennifer Latronica finished with 11 points and eight rebounds for the Gators (7-1, 3-0 NCAC), while Stephanie Wolf had 10 points.

Oberlin (4-5, 0-2) was led by Alyssa Clark with 12 points. Roneisha Kinney had 10 points and nine rebounds, and Jessie Oram scored 10.
