YSU projected starters: Forwards John Barber (6-6 junior, 9.23 points per game) and Chris Booth (6-8 junior, 3.2 ppg); guards Quin Humphrey (6-4 senior, 17.5 ppg), Byron Davis (6-2 junior, 9.2 ppg) and Keston Roberts (6-4 senior, 13.7 ppg)
UW-Milwaukee projected starters: Avery Smith (6-3 junior, 15.6 points per game); Paige Paulson (6-7 junior, 10.9 ppg); Ricky Franklin (6-1 sophomore, 5.6 ppg); Alan Hanson (6-0, junior, 5.4 ppg); Charlie Swiggett (6-1 freshman, 6.3 ppg).
Coaches: Jerry Slocum (The King's, N.Y. '75) is 10-27 in his second year at YSU and 590-351 in 32 seasons overall. Rob Jeter (UW-Platteville) is 24-14 in his second season with the Panthers.
Notes: The Penguins snapped a four-game losing streak last Tuesday with a 70-36 rout of Division II Lock Haven at home. Two of the Penguins three wins this season have come against Division II opponents. YSU is 1-6 on the road. UW-Milwaukee will open its Horizon League season today, while the Penguins are 0-1, losing their opener to UIC 80-64 in Chicago. The Panthers dropped their last outing to Missouri State 79-60.
Next: YSU will continue on the road with a non-league game at Robert Morris in a 7 p.m. tipoff on Dec. 16.
