McDermott surpasses 1,000 points
ANDERSON, Ind. Kyle McDermott surpassed 1,000 points for his career in Geneva College's 52-47 loss to Taylor (Ind.) Friday night.
McDermott led the Golden Tornadoes (4-2) with 17 points he began the game with 985 for his career while Jermaine Ferguson added 13. Greg McDivitt had 12 rebounds for Geneva, which shot 46 percent from the floor but made only 2-of-12 from 3-point range and committed 21 turnovers.
Walsh 112, Kentucky Christian 75
NORTH CANTON Corey Jones led all scorers with 26 points for Walsh, which led 30-2 at one point in the first half.
The Cavaliers shot 55.7 percent from the floor. Josh Ozanich (Champion) added a career-high 15 points, while Josh Johnson (Warren Harding) had 12 points and a career-high 16 rebounds.
