McDermott surpasses 1,000 points



ANDERSON, Ind. — Kyle McDermott surpassed 1,000 points for his career in Geneva College's 52-47 loss to Taylor (Ind.) Friday night.

McDermott led the Golden Tornadoes (4-2) with 17 points — he began the game with 985 for his career — while Jermaine Ferguson added 13. Greg McDivitt had 12 rebounds for Geneva, which shot 46 percent from the floor but made only 2-of-12 from 3-point range and committed 21 turnovers.

Walsh 112, Kentucky Christian 75

NORTH CANTON — Corey Jones led all scorers with 26 points for Walsh, which led 30-2 at one point in the first half.

The Cavaliers shot 55.7 percent from the floor. Josh Ozanich (Champion) added a career-high 15 points, while Josh Johnson (Warren Harding) had 12 points and a career-high 16 rebounds.
