Westminster inducts 9 into HOF



Westminster College inducted nine athletes into the school's hall of fame on Saturday.

The class has Felton Brown (1960 track and field); Janie Cebula (1997 volleyball); Jim Delsandro (1997 basketball); Jason Kunkle (1995 swimming); Craig Mills (1996 football); Tony Pizon (1997 track and field, cross country); Ron Minnie (1960 track/field, basketball); Bill Moss (1957 football, track and field); and Lou Perrotta (1994 football).

Brown is arguably the fastest man to graduate from Westminster. A four-year letterman and captain of the 1960 Titans team, his records in the sprints still stand atop the Titan record board.

Titans coaching legend Harold Burry called him "the best sprinter Westminster has ever had."

A native of Monessen, Brown is a school teacher in Plano, Texas.

Cebula is one of only six Titans volleyball players to register 1,000 or more kills in her career, and she did it in just three years as a starter.

After playing her initial collegiate season at Youngstown State, she transferred to Westminster and helped Coach Tammy Swearingen's teams to a 92-27 record during the next three years, including the KECC championship in 1994. Cebula is a native of New Wilmington and is now an elementary school guidance counselor in Leetsdale

Delsandro was a four-year letterman at point guard for the Titans' basketball team in the mid-1990s, becoming a starter midway through his freshman year and helping the Titans to four straight regular season KECC titles.

During that period, under then-head coach Ron Galbreath, the Titans captured two KECC tournament titles and made two trips to the NAIA national tournament. A native of Erie, Jim is a math teacher at General McLane High School.

Kunkle was an All-America swimmer for the Titans from 1992-95. A two-year co-captain and the team's most valuable swimmer during his senior season.

Jason earned All-America honors in six different events during his outstanding career. A native of Monroeville, he resides in Pittsburgh and is a teacher at his alma mater, Gateway High School.

Mills is the school's all-time leader in solo tackles with 411. He played linebacker under Gene Nicholson and was a key player on the Titans' 1994 NAIA national championship team.

He was a first-team All-American in 1995 and 1996 A native of Ellwood City, Craig is a sixth-grade teacher at North Side High School in the Ellwood City School District,

Minnie set school and district records for the Titan track and field team and was a key player on the 1959 and 1960 NAIA national tournament basketball teams that compiled a 43-11 overall record.

The 1960 team finished as national runners-up after upsetting defending champion, Tennessee A&I. Minnie resides in Pittsburgh and is a retention counselor in the WTW program. He is a native of Monessen.

Moss, a 1957 grad, was a two-way starter at end on the football team for four years and was also a standout for the Titans track and field program in the spring.

The Titans football teams Moss played on posted a combined four-year record of 28-1-1. A native of Crafton, Bill served eight years in the Air National Guard. He lives in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he is president of Moss Enterprises, Inc.

Perrotta was a standout offensive lineman for the Titan football teams that were runners-up for the 1990 and 1993 NAIA national championships and for the 1992 undefeated regular season team.

The co-captain of the 1993 team, Perrotta also gained NAIA All-American Honorable Mention that season. He started three years and lettered four during his Titan career on teams that compiled an overall record of 38-9.

Perrota resides in his hometown of New Castle where he is an attorney

Pizon was voted most valuable performer on the cross country team all four years and qualified for NAIA cross country nationals in 1993-95.

The recipient of the David B. Fawcett Award as an Outstanding Senior Athlete, Tony earned 12 letters: four in both track and cross country and four more as manager of the basketball team. He is a native of Cleveland and is a physician who lives in Pittsburgh.
