Raymond Lee Bowser, 64
BOARDMAN Raymond Lee Bowser, 64, formerly of Boardman, passed away peacefully Monday morning at Austinwoods Care Center.
Ray was born on March 22, 1944 in Youngstown, the son of Harry R. and Arlene D. (Jackson) Bowser and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a graduate of Chaney High School, Class of 1962 and graduated from Youngstown State University in 1978.
Ray worked for the E.J. DeBartolo Company for 10 years until 1990. He served in the U.S. Air Force, during the Vietnam War for 36 months, serving in England and Europe. He was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by two brothers, Kenneth (Rosalie) Bowser of Boardman and Robert (Pamela) Bowser of Hudson. Ray also leaves several nieces and nephews, and one great-nephew, Gianni.
Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Lane Funeral Home, Canfield Chapel.
Private burial will take place Saturday at Canfield East Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the A.L.S. Society in Rays name.

Mary T. Craven, 91
MARS, PA. Mary T. Craven, 91, formerly of Boardman, died Sunday morning, Nov. 16, 2008, at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.
Born in Youngstown on April 1, 1917, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Jane (Seabourn) Robinson.
She was a retired sales manager for Sears in Youngstown. She also belonged to the Sears Retirees Club and the Youngstown Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church in Youngstown, and had attended the Dutilh United Methodist Church in Cranberry Township.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Jane Grafton and her husband, Kenneth, of Baden, Pa.; a son, John R. Craven and his wife, Sandra, of Ocala, Fla.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Craven, whom she married on Aug. 5, 1939 and who died on March 1, 1989, and by two brothers.
Service and interment are private.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Lung Association.

YOUNGSTOWN Services will be Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home for Mr. Jonathan David Cross, 28, who departed this life Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Boardman.
Mr. Cross was born April 7, 1980 in Youngstown, a son of Elike Crump and Valaria Cross.
He attended The Rayen School and attended Calvary Ministries International. He loved to play chess and billiards.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Valaria Cross and stepfather, James Easton, two children, JaZuan D. and Ja Ziyah Cross, a brother, Charles H., three sisters, Eliza L., Keela D. and Lakesha A. Cross and a lifelong friend, Anita Brown, all of Youngstown; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Squire and Manolia Cross; and Henry Crenshaw, who reared him.
Friends may call Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Joyce A. Douglas, 73
STRUTHERS Joyce A. Douglas, 73, formerly of Massillon, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Boardman.
She was born in Massillon on Feb. 13, 1935, a daughter to the late John Phillip and Opal (Peters) Beers.
Joyce was a member of the Christian Science Church. She was a 1953 graduate of Massillon Washington High School, was the marble champion, and was a Girl Scout leader of Troop No. 591.
Joyce was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She enjoyed fishing, and bird watching.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded by her brother, Kenneth Beers, and a husband, John V. Boerner in 1978.
Survivors include her children, Nancy Ann (John) Calhoun of Massillon, Lisa E. (Burl) Beitzel, with whom she lived with in Struthers, Tracey J. (David) Snyder of Canton, Jeffrey J. Boerner of Massillon, and Ted A. (Angela) Boerner of Gainesville, Ga.; stepchildren, John V. Boerner IV, Cynthia Mazda, Todd Edwin Boerner, and Susan Motts; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon.
Visitation is Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.

Ruth A. Engelhardt, 77
STRUTHERS - Ruth A. Engelhardt, 77, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at the Greenbriar.
Ruth was born July 19, 1931 in Struthers, a daughter of George and Hazel Krimmer Stephenson. She was a lifelong resident of Struthers.
A 1949 graduate of Struthers High School, Ruth worked at the Youngstown Sheet and Tube in the office and later at Sears.
She was a member of the Struthers Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Struthers Garden Club, the FA Club, the Sears Retirees, and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Ruth enjoyed gardening and needlepoint.
Ruth leaves her husband of 57 years, William F. Engelhardt, whom she married Oct. 13, 1951 at the Struthers Presbyterian Church; two daughters, Pamela (Michael) Mitchell of Fuquay Varina, N.C. and Tracy (Al) Mason of Poland; four grandchildren, Allison Mitchell, Krista Mitchell, Chad Mason, and Kyle Mason; a sister, Dolores Leiter of Struthers; and two brothers, Robert Stephenson and Ken (Joan) Stephenson, both of Austintown.
Besides her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by a brother, James Stephenson.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers, with the Rev. Steve Breazier officiating.
Interment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.
Friends will be received Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Cornelius D. Floyd, 59
YOUNGSTOWN Cornelius D. Floyd, 59, passed away Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
He was born June 1, 1949 in Youngstown, the son of Willie Oliver and Beulah Floyd.
Mr. Floyd retired in 1991 from U.S. Steel McDonald, where he worked as a welder by trade and owner of C&J Peptune Kennel. He was an avid animal lover. He enjoyed raising and breeding dogs. He graduated from South High School in 1968.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Oliver and Beulah Floyd; a brother, Willie Oliver Floyd II (Jeanette); and a sister, Wilma Brown.
He leaves to mourn, his wife of 37 years, Jacqueline (Little) Floyd; son, Cornelius D. (Verona) Floyd II; daughter, Kimberly N. (David) Floyd; four grandchildren, Alexis, Taylor, Jade and Evan; four sisters, Ethel Pusey, Joretta (Ronald) Cotten of Cleveland, and Julia (Donald) Ells; three brothers, Alford (Doris) Floyd of New York, Louis (Evelyn) Floyd, and Lamont Floyd; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Howard-Rhoden Memorial Home.
David D. Griffey, 74
GIRARD David D. Griffey, 74, passed away Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at Cleveland Clinic.
Mr. Griffey was born Aug. 30, 1934 to the late G.D. and Rubye Gregory Griffey in Springfield, Tenn.
He worked 39 years as a Millwright -Tin Smith for Packard Electric. Mr. Griffey was a member of the Old North Church, Girard Historical Society and Girard Athletic Boosters. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, the former Ida Latimer Bennett, whom he married Jan. 3, 1981; five children, Jennifer Bennett-Wyman of Scranton, Pa., David D. (Mary Jo) Griffey Jr. of Parma, Lee M. Bennett of Girard, Ruth (Dan) Krug of Lebanon, Pa., and Becky (Bob) Bucci of Girard; a sister, Patsy Harvey of Girard; and 16 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Olive Reeder Griffey, who died in 1979.
Services will be held Friday at 5 p.m. at the Old North Church in Canfield, where visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Internment will be Monday at Tod Homestead Cemetery.
Material contributions may be made to The Dave Griffey Camp Scholarship fund for children c/o Old North Church.

Gail Marie (Lanser) Johnson, 51
HANOVERTON Gail Marie (Lanser) Johnson, 51, of 11417 Bethesda Road, died at 3:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at her home following a courageous seven year battle with cancer.
She was born on Sept. 13, 1957 in Port of Spain, Trinidad, the daughter of Joseph Lanser and Rose Marie (Plummer) Lanser.
Gail had been the office manager for Architectural Ceramic Products in Boardman for five years and had previously worked in reservations at Eastern Airlines for five years. She was a 1975 graduate of Academia Maria Reina, attended the University of Puerto Rico, and had been a area resident for 22 years.
She was a member of the Salem First Presbyterian Church and a member and past president of the Salem Garden Club. She was also a member of the Salem Golf Club and the Salem Country Club. Gail loved gardening, dancing and being with her family. She loved animals and nature. She was incredibly energetic and had an incredible amount of friends and loved ones. Her children were her life.
She fought cancer for seven years with incredible courage and dignity, always caring for others first. Her inner and outer beauty left an impression on all she met. Gods love and grace has brought peace to her short life.
Her husband of 22 years, Peter C. Johnson Jr,. survives her along with two sons, Andrew Aviles Johnson, 27, of Salem and Peter Cathcart Johnson III, 21, a student at Bowling Green; a daughter, Rebecca Marie Johnson, 15, at home; mother, Rose Marie Aybar of Miami; and father, Joseph Lancer of Hernando County, Fla. Three sisters, Nancy Ann Pagan of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Valerie Acebal of Miami, and Rose Marie Aybar of Miami and a brother, Robert Lanser of Beaverton, Ore. also survive her.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23, at the First Presbyterian Church in Salem, with Rev. Meta Cramer and Rev. Gary Schreckengost officiating.
Calling hours will be held Friday, Nov. 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home.
Burial will be at the Bethesda Church Cemetery in Summitville.

Anna C. Jordan, 90
AUSTINTOWN There will be a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lane Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel for Anna C. Jordan, 90, who passed away Sunday at Briarfield at the Ridge.
Anna was born Jan. 3, 1918 in Summerhill, Pa., a daughter of the late John and Edith (Bender) Chappell.
She was a cook for Isalys Dairy and a member of Wedgewood Park Church.
Anna enjoyed doing needlework and was a former leader of a local Girl Scout troop.
Her husband, William Jordan, whom she married September of 1939, passed away in 1986.
Anna is survived by her daughter, Susan Deceder of Malta, and five grandchildren, Steve (Carrie) Deceder of Malta, William Deceder of Austintown, Wayne Jordan Jr. of Poland, Angie Greenawalt of Hubbard and William (Erin) Jordan of Phoenix.
Beside her parents and husband, Anna was preceded in death by her son, Wayne Jordan Sr.; one sister, Delores McDonald; and one brother, Charles Chappell.

Antionette McFall, 92
HUBBARD Antionette McFall, 92, passed away Saturday evening at Liberty Health Care Center.
Antionette was born April 24, 1916 in Youngstown, a daughter of Tony and Philomenia Serafino Misciskia and came to Hubbard in 1961.
She was a homemaker and a member of the former Free Methodist Faith Chapel in Youngstown.
Her husband, Francis McFall, whom she married Aug. 29, 1936, passed away March 12, 1991.
She is survived by her children, two daughters, Janet McCaughtry and Patricia (Paul) Wells, both of Liberty Township; a son, Robert F. McFall of Hubbard; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters, Theresa Olive of Campbell and Rose Lockso of Hubbard; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Jenny Tondi, Florence Rosile and Carmel Arnett; and a brother, Albert Misciskia.
A private interment was held Tuesday at Hubbard Union Cemetery.

Together Again
LIBERTY A Mass of Christian Burial will be said Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Edward Church for Mary Elizabeth Nagy, who died Monday at Liberty Health Care Center.
Dolly was born Dec. 27, 1931 in Rootstown. Mary was raised by her mother and her grandparents, who began calling her Dolly to discern between the two young ladies named Mary in the household.
Mary graduated from The Rayen School in 1949. Straight out of high school, she began working at Federal Wholesale in Hubbard as a sales office worker. She retired from there in 1979, after 30 dedicated years of service.
At the age of 21, Mary met Alex at a dance and a few years later they were married and spent over 45 wonderful years together. They enjoyed traveling to Florida and Connecticut.
Mary is the aunt to niece, Teresa Lord and nephew, Peter Nagy Jr., a great-nephew, Michael Lord, a caring brother-in-law, Peter Nagy, who visited her often. Special cousins Janet and Doug Svoboda and their children, and cousin Patty Prock. Mary was an incredibly dear heart, who adored her family and friends. She was a lovely soul, who was always up for a friendly chat to share her beautiful smile.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mary Heisler Vogt; her husband, Alex Nagy, whom she married Oct. 13, 1956, and he died Feb. 25, 2004.
Friends and family may call Friday from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at the church.

James Allen Woodley, 57
MENTOR James Allen Woodley, 57, passed away at the residence of his youngest son on Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at 2:20 a.m., following his battle with cancer, with his family at his side.
Jim was born on June 13, 1951 in Warren, the middle son of William and Elizabeth (Miller) Woodley.
He attended McDonald schools and had served six years with the U.S. Army. Jim was a resident of Warren for most of his life. He was employed as a laborer before being disabled.
He knew his wife, the former Diana Lynne McGlone, from childhood. They were married Oct. 15, 1970 and shared a loving relationship for 38 years.
Survivors include his wife, Diana; his sons, James A. (April) Woodley Jr. of Niles, Richard L. (Gina) Woodley of Cortland and Shane E. (Christene) Woodley of Mentor; three brothers, Johnny Woodley and Robert Woodley, both of McDonald and William (Janet) Woodley of Southington; a sister, Elizabeth Milligan of Girard; and five grandchildren, Cody, Bethany, Daniel, Andrew and Tyler.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Richard and Valley; two sisters, Shirley Nadle and Pearl Scharver; and a infant granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, at the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home in Warren.
The family will receive and greet friends at the funeral home Thursday from noon to 2 p.m.
Officiating the services will be Rev. Bernard Schmalzried.
Jims wishes were for cremation and a private family gathering for the interment of his cremains will be observed at a later date.
