Elenore A. Beachler, 74
VIENNA TOWNSHIP Elenore A. Beachler, 74, passed away early Sunday morning.
Mrs. Beachler was born May 9, 1934, a daughter of Dr. John R. and Vinetta (Warner) Anderson.
Elenore graduated from Vienna High School in 1952, she then attended Miami University of Ohio, and went on to marry William H. Beachler Sr. on June 26, 1954. Together they shared more than 50 years of marriage.
Elenore had worked for Union Savings and Trust in Warren for several years, but spent the majority of her life raising and caring for her family.
She was a member of the Vienna United Methodist Church, and a previous member of Warren Jr. Crafts. Elenore enjoyed volunteering for the American Cancer Society and had loved collecting and restoring her century home with her husband, and entertaining family and friends.
Elenore is survived by her three sons, Keith Beachler and his wife, Susan, of Canton, S.D., Craig Beachler of Vienna, and William H. Chip Beachler Jr. of Hilliard; a daughter, Jennifer and her husband, Steve of Birmingham, Ala.; and 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2004, her parents, and her brother, John Anderson Jr.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Lane Funeral Home, Madasz Chapel in Brookfield.
Private family funeral services will be held on Thursday.
Burial will be at the Vienna Township Cemetery.

Robert William Corll
CANFIELD Robert William Corll passed away Nov. 14 , 2008.
He was born Jan. 26, 1934, the son of Raymond Sr. and Virginia (Bancroft) Corll.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Jr. and his wife, Jean Marie McLean, whom he married on July 23, 1960, and devotedly took care of for over 40 years.
He is survived by a daughter, Debbie Corll; a son, Jim Corll (Cindy); grandchildren, Joe, Zachary, Jacob and Katelyn; and nephews, Jack and Jeff Corll.
Bob was a proud Ohio State Alumni. He was often heard uttering Go Bucks! He achieved a B.S. in science and a masters in education. He was the first in the family to earn a masters degree. He has had a lifelong love of Buckeye football and was fortunate enough the last two years to have his dream job as a ticket-taker at all the OSU home games.
His professional career started as a math and science teacher at Western Reserve Schools in Berlin Center. He then became a Curriculum Coordinater at the West Branch School District. He went on to become the principal of Western Reserve High School and then the Superintendant of the school system, before retiring in 1992. He loved the kids and teaching and was always their biggest sports fan.
His love of singing and music was always a focal point in his life. He started singing in a barbershop quartet called The Four Tunes while at OSU. He loved barbershop music and sang in The Stephen Foster chorus and more recently the Penn Ohio Singers for many years. He also sang in the church choir. He had a wonderful bass voice. No one could sing Old Man River or O Holy Night like he could.
He was a consummate storyteller and always had a joke to tell. His grandchildren loved his animated versions of the The Three Little Pigs. It will be a family legacy.
Bob was always lending a helping hand to others at the drop of a hat. He had so many wonderful friends and family members that meant so much to him and were so good to him in return.

Elisa R. Ericson, 64
BOARDMAN Prayers will begin at 9:15 a.m. Thursday at the Fox Funeral Home followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Anthony of Padua Church celebrated by Msgr. John DeMarinis, for Elisa R. Ericson, 64, who died Sunday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Boardman Campus.
Elisa was born July 5, 1944, in Youngstown, a daughter of Vincent and Teresa DeMarinis Procopio.
She was a 1962 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School. She retired from the Bureau of Rehabilitation Services for the State of Ohio as an account examiner II after 37 years of service.
She was presently an executive board member for the Ohio Civil Service Employee Association Chapter 5000 (OCSEA), and was a past vice president of OCSEA.
Elisa loved spending time cooking and particularly enjoyed traveling with friends and family.
She leaves three sons, John Ericson and Eric (Cindy) Ericson, both of Boardman and Mark (Michele) Ericson of Rogers; a brother, Vincent P. (Angela) Procopio of Canfield; three sisters, Julie Plekan of Portland, Ore. and Rose Vernucci and Jean Procopio, both of Boardman; and several nieces and nephews.

Paul M. Fentress Sr., 78
LIBERTY Paul M. Fentress Sr., 78, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at Hospice House.
He was born Feb. 5, 1930 in Princess Anne County, Va., a son of Lloyd C. and Hattie Chappell Fentress.
Paul grew up in Princess Anne County and attended Princess Anne High School. He was employed by Monsanto Chemicals as a machine operator in Norfolk, Va. for several years. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years, where he was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska.
After moving to Youngstown, he worked for Oldberg Manufacturing for almost 20 years. Later he was employed by LTV Steel in Warren, retiring after working there for several years.
He enjoyed hunting, NASCAR, riding snowmobiles with his sons, and riding dirt bikes. He also enjoyed spending time with his numerous grandchildren.
His wife, the former Mary Edra Banks, died April 18, 2003.
He leaves three sons, Paul M. (Susan) Fentress Jr. of Campbell, Ron W. (Faye) Fentress of Girard and Roger B. (Sandy) Fentress of Liberty; a brother, Lloyd A. Fentress of Norfolk; two sisters, Doris F. Hampton of Norfolk and Phyllis L. Slate of Chesapeake, Va.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Ernestine Ange Fentress.
Private funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home in Hubbard.

Ruth B. Gorup
YOUNGSTOWN Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home and at noon at St. Christine Catholic Church for Ruth Barbara Gorup, who passed away early Sunday morning at St. Elizabeths Health Center after a year long illness.
She was born July 11, 1924 in Youngstown to Andrew and Anna (Mihalick) Patrick.
She attended St. Cyril and Methodius School, and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1943. After graduation, Ruth was employed by McKelveys Department Store, where she was a switchboard operator. She was also an office manager for Western Union during WWII.
She married William Gorup of Pittsburgh in 1948. After residing in Boardman and Alliance, they settled in the Cornersburg area in 1958.
Ruth was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family and her many friends and acquaintances. She was a devoted and generous wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her eight children, Linda Actzehan of Canfield, Jane (Joe) Marinelli of Boardman, Bill Gorup of Athens, Robert Gorup of Youngstown, Susan (Gary) Battaglia of Boardman, Brian (Noreen) Gorup of Youngstown, Jeff (Wendy) Gorup of Boardman, and Greg Gorup of Youngstown. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Laura and Kristine Marinelli, Gianna (Jeff) Olinger, Brian Gorup, Patrick and Erick Battaglia, and Emily Gorup, and a sister, Ethel Mehocic of Las Vegas.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill, who passed away in 2006; her parents; and six brothers and sisters, John Patrick, Ann Schragel, Margaret Patrick, Vincent Patrick, Loretta Patrick, and James Patrick.

Elmer C. Heitzenrater, 80
BOARDMAN Elmer C. Heitzenrater, 80, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Boardman.
Mr. Heitzenrater was born Friday, July 20, 1928 in Altmen, Pa., a son of Clarence E. and Dolly Zone Heitzenrater.
He retired as a carpenter for Stambaugh-Thompson in 1993. He loved fishing at Pymatuning State Park, camping and loved going to the Four Seasons Flea Market every Sunday. He was of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by five children, Richard Heitzenrater of Sharon, Pa., Roger (Anna) Heitzenrater of Port Mansfield, Texas; Linda (Eugene) Fout of Meadville, Cheryl (David) Campman of Leesburg, Fla. and Marlane Young of Masury; 10 grandchildren, John (Melanie) Fout, Tim (Rhonda) Fout, Robert (Victoria) Heitzenrater, Melissa Heitzenrater, Kate (Doug) Cordero, Rebecca (Tim) Kirton, Allison (Mike) Ruez, Sarah (Jonothan) Humphrey, Jeffery (Roxanne) Davis and Jessica Davis; 16 great-grandchildren; a nephew with whom he resided, Robert Schall; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty White, Irene Schall and Marie McCaullogy; and three brothers, Kenneth Heitzenrater, Dale Heitzenrater and Roy Heitzenrater.
Funeral services will be held at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, at 6 p.m.

Together Again
LIBERTY Edward J. LaCivita, 57, died Saturday afternoon at Hospice House.
He was born Sept. 4, 1951 in Youngstown, a son of John J. and Phyllis A. Papa LaCivita and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. LaCivita was a foreman for Cedar Steel for over 20 years. He was a committee chairman for Boy Scouts of America Troop 55 in Youngstown and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
His wife, the former Lynn M. Rankin, whom he married Sept. 9, 1972, died March 28, 2008.
He leaves a son, Joseph E. (fiancee Amy Ambrose) LaCivita of Ashland; three daughters, Anne M. (Tyrone) Barnes of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Sherri L. (Spencer) Fountain of Westerville and Melissa L. LaCivita of Liberty; three brothers, Dr. Charles J. (Barbara) LaCivita of Carmel Valley, Calif., Atty. Richard J. (Rosemary) LaCivita of Canfield and David F. (Barbara) LaCivita of Boca Raton, Fla.; and 10 grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; and a granddaughter, Kara Shives.

YOUNGSTOWN There will be funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman for Charles R. Chuck McCulloch Sr., 67, who passed away Sunday afternoon, Nov. 16.
Charles was born Sept. 14, 1941 in Altoona, Pa., the son of Charles and Clara (Yanke) McCulloch.
He served his country with the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Chuck was employed by General Motors for 26 years, retiring in 1994.
Besides his wife, the former Vera Hoover, whom he married Dec. 30, 1991, he will always be remembered by his children, Charlie McCulloch Jr., Joni (Bill) Allen, Suzanne (Bill) Craft, Anna (William) Joernct, and Heather McArthur; his grandchildren, Billy McCulloch, Gia Craft, and Jessica and Amanda Joernct; his mom, Clara; his brothers and sisters, Mary Ann (Martin) Hanley of Hubbard, Donna (Keith) Dearing of Youngstown, Carol (Donald) McDermott of Boardman, Roy (Mary) Barr, Nora (Bill) Glass, Debbie Thorp, Danny Barr, and Wanda (Jeff) Hockenberry, all of Altoona, Cathy (Chuck) Pulice of Struthers, Jim Barr of Boardman, and Joe Barr of Altoona; and a stepbrother, Paul Malarik of Hammond, Ind.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Anna and August Yanke, and his stepfathers, Cloyd Sonny Esworthy and Roy Barr.

James W. McFalls, 87
LIBERTY James W. McFalls, 87, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, at Autumn Hills Nursing Home in Niles.
He was born Jan. 21, 1921 in Youngstown, the son of the late Charles and Florence (Welsby) McFalls.
He was an Army Air Corp veteran of WWII serving in the Pacific theater as a tech sergeant crew chief on a B-29. He was a life member of the Girard American Legion and a member of St. Rose Church in Girard. After 32 years service, he retired in 1980 as a conductor for the Youngstown & Northern Railroad. He was a bus driver for Liberty Schools for 17 years.
He is survived by his wife, Ida (Isoldi) McFalls, whom he married Jan. 20, 1951; two sons, James (Debbie) McFalls of Austintown and William (Gayle) McFalls of Bristolville; two daughters, Florence Pinky (Lee) Evans of McDonald and Peggy (Pat) Byrne of Girard; two sisters, Florence Hendricks of Greenford and Suzanne Jones of Mineral Ridge; eight grandchildren, Lee, Jamie, Tara, Joey, Nicole, Jimmy, Patrick, and Jay; and a great-granddaughter, Aubrey.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Milton McFalls and a sister, Ethel Fair.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the McClurkin Funeral Home in Girard with calling hours from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
Interment will be at Girard City Cemetery.

Nancy Lynn Miller, 59
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS Nancy Lynn Miller, 59, passed away on Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, at 2:22 p.m. after an extended illness.
She was born in Sharon, Pa. on Sept. 1, 1949 to James C. and Margaret Berger Phillips.
Nancy was preceded in death by her mother.
She is survived by her father, James C. Phillips Sr. of Fort Meyers, Fla.; daughter, Paula Jurko of Dublin; daughter, Lisa Dickson and her husband, Daryl, and granddaughter, Sarah Dickson, all of Brookfield; sisters, Patricia A. Phillips of Hubbard and Cindy Fammartino-Fark and family of Scottsdale, Ariz.; brother, James C. Phillips Jr. and family of Poland; stepsons, Darren Miller and family of Hermitage, Pa., Dr. Kirt Miller and family of Chesapeake, and Rhonda Resele of Transfer, Pa.; as well as former husbands, John Jurko of Brookfield and Thomas Miller of Girard.
Nancy was a beloved mother and grandmother and lived in the Youngstown-Warren Ohio area until the age of 41. While there she graduated from Brookfield High School and Youngstown State University and was very active in several community organizations and the First Presbyterian Churches in Sharon, Youngstown and Vienna.
In 1991, Ms. Miller relocated to Laredo, Texas to work as a financial officer for Delphi Corporation in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. While in Laredo, she completed her masters in business administration at Texas A&M International University. In addition to several committee positions, she served as treasurer of the Laredo Business Professional Womens Association as well as seminar chair in 1996. She attended Leadership Texas Class of 1996 and belonged to the Laredo Leadership Texas Alumnae Association.
Nancy was also the president of the Friends of the Laredo Public Library and helped to raise the funds required for a new state of the art facility. In 1997, Ms. Miller moved to Cordoba, Argentina to serve as chief financial officer for Delphi Corporation there.
Ms. Miller returned to Laredo in 1999 to serve as a finance administrator for Delphi until her retirement in 2003. She moved to San Antonio, Texas in 2005 and became president of the San Antonio Newcomers Association within six months. She was active in the bridge club and an avid supporter of both the Laredo and San Antonio chapters of the American Red Cross.

Earnest Bennie Parker, 80
CAMPBELL Services will be Wednesday at noon at the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church for Mr. Earnest Bennie Parker, 80, who departed this life Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, at Metro Hospital in Cleveland.
Mr. Parker was born Aug. 25, 1928 in Campbell, a son of Ben and Lillian Parish Parker.
He was a 1947 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School, and was inducted into the High School Athletics Hall of Fame in 1996. He had been employed at General Fireproofing, Youngstown Sheet and Tube and was a custodian for Campbell Memorial High School, retiring in 1999 after 38 years of service. He was a member of the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years, served as chaplin of the trustee board and head usher of the Disciples of Christ Usher Ministry for many years, and the Coordinator Club. He was a Korean War veteran, having served for four years and was awarded the Purple Heart and Silver Star.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory, a nephew, Tony (Gwen) Edwards, whom he helped rear, of Struthers; a special great-niece, Diedre Torres (George) Woodford; half-sister, Patricia (George) Rhodes of Campbell; his devoted caregiver and companion, Gloria Jean Armour of Youngstown; godchildren, Damon Caldwell of Loraine and Joan Felder of Youngstown; his adopted son, James Caldwell; special friends, Leroy Wallace, Kenneth Brayer, and Vernon Gilbert, all of Youngstown; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, the former Mildred Forte, whom he married in 1954, and who passed away Dec. 15, 2002; a brother, Connie Parker; and two sisters, Laura and Thelma Parker.

Marie Therese Raiser, 81
NORTH LIMA Marie Therese Raiser, 81, formerly of New Philadelphia, was peacefully taken home by Our Lord on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008.
Marie Therese was born Oct. 10, 1927 to Oliver John and Blanche DeLisle Barrow in Maumee.
The family moved to Columbus, where she grew up and met the love of her life Charles Chic Raiser, whom she married in September of 1950. Charles and Marie moved to New Philadelphia in 1972 where they were active members of the Sacred Heart Parish for over 30 years. After Charles death in June of 2007, Marie Therese moved to North Lima.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Rita Carter of Palm Springs, Calif., Mary Ann (Dean) Wilson of Boardman, Thomas (Nada) Raiser of Liberty Corner, N.J., Angela (Christopher) McNeill of Virginia Beach, Va. and Susan (Eric) Ragusa of Duncansville, Pa.; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many dear friends.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chic; and a son, Jerry Raiser.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held today, Nov. 18, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia with Monsignor George Schlegel officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in New Philadelphia.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA. There will be services at 11 a.m. today at Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven for Marilyn who met her Lord and Savior on Saturday.
Marilyn was born March 5, 1952, the daughter of Anthony and Rita (Chiarmonte) Latiano of Niles.
She was a 1970 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aeries No. 714 Ladies Auxiliary of Doraville, Ga.
She is survived by her husband, Michael J. Riley Sr., whom she married Nov. 4, 1989 and her brother, Nick (Karen) Latiano of Niles. She also leaves three children, Michelle Riley of Boardman, Melissa (Rashad) Atkinson of Tucker, Ga. and Michael J. Riley Jr. of Boardman; four grandchildren, Derrick Henderson of Boardman, Shatina and Shamar Gilmore of Boardman, and Breana Atkinson of Tucker, Ga.; two nephews, whom she dearly loved, Anthony (Justine) Latiano of Girard, and Nicholas Latiano of Niles; and one great-nephew, Jayce Latiano of Girard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Rita (Chiarmonte) Latiano.
Calling hours were held from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven in Douglasville.

Steve Rockney, 87
AUSTINTOWN Steve Rockney, 87, passed away early Saturday morning, Nov. 15, 2008, at his home following a brief illness.
Steve was born Sept. 1, 1921 in Youngstown, a son of the late Nicholas and Mary Chorak Roknich, and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a veteran of WWII, serving as a sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945.
Mr. Rockney worked for 40 years in construction for Walco Management, retiring just this past September as a supervisor.
He was a member of St. Christine Church in Youngstown and the Catholic War Veterans John J. Buckley Post No. 1292. Steve liked to bowl and golf, and participated in several area golf leagues and bowled in several leagues at Wedgewood Lanes.
Steve leaves his beloved wife of 62 years, Virginia Klutch Rockney, whom he married May 6, 1946; a daughter, Wendy Rockney at home; a grandson, John Justin Rockney; a granddaughter, Keri Lynn Rockney; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Steve will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A daughter, Cheryl A. Rockney; four sisters, Mary and Katherine Roknich, Ann Ferraro, and Mildred Millich; and two brothers, William Rockney and Michael Rocknich, are deceased.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial service on Thursday, Nov. 20, at 10 a.m. at St. Christine Church.
Committal services with military honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.

HUBBARD There will be services at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home for Gerald L. Shugart Jr., 38, who passed away Sunday.
Gerald was born Sept. 22, 1970 in Youngstown, a son of Gerald L. Sr. and Rosemary Noel Shugart and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a 1988 graduate of Campbell High School and a 1990 graduate of ITT Technical School. He was a self employed carpet installer for 10 years and loved muscle cars.
Gerald is survived by his wife, the former Jennifer Howe, whom he married Aug. 14, 2004, son, Devin J. Howe, and his stepchildren, Nadyne Howe and Greg Howe, all at home. He also leaves his parents, Gerald L. Shugart Sr. of Campbell and Rosemary Morell of Poland and his siblings, Linda L. Weidner and Jeffrey L. Shugart, both of Campbell and Jaime L. DePascale of Struthers.

Don C. Snyder III
BRONX, N.Y. Don C. Snyder III was laid to rest in his home state of New York.
He was preceded in death by his father, Don C Snyder II.
He leaves his son, Don C. Snyder IV; mother, Helen Snyder; siblings, Tom and Shawn, Peggy Gatrell and Colleen Drewek; nieces, Heather Taylor, Mariah, Hannah, Sarah and Chrsitina Snyder; nephew, Strugis Gatrell; two great-nieces; and a great-nephew.
Alvina A. Weldon, 96
YOUNGSTOWN Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Christine Catholic Church, for Mrs. Alvina A. Weldon, 96, who entered into rest Saturday afternoon at her home.
Alvina was born March 7, 1912 in Cleveland, the daughter of the late William and Monica (Geapfert) Day.
She was a homemaker and a member of the church. She loved golf, reading and arranging flowers.
Her husband, James T. Weldon, whom she married in 1939, passed away in 1988.
Mrs. Weldon will be sadly missed by many, including her son, David S. (Winifred) Weldon of Wadsworth; two daughters, Deborah D. Ziemke of Youngstown and Donna (Luther) Weldon-Shaak of State College, Pa.; a sister, Catherine Galayda of Cleveland; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, Alvina was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Day; and two sisters, Eileen Henry and Rita Goss.
