Man charged with robbing acquaintance
YOUNGSTOWN Police said a 29-year-old Whitney Avenue woman was assaulted and robbed by a male acquaintance in the 1900 block of Mahoning Avenue.
The victim told police that she and her 11-year-old son were riding with Andrew R. Brewer, 29, of North Bon Air Avenue around 7 p.m. Friday when she and Brewer began arguing. She said he struck her and then her son as the boy came to her defense.
She said Brewer took $50 and the title to an automobile from her purse before pushing her out of the car in a parking lot on Mahoning Avenue. Police said they caught Brewer around 8:30 p.m. at Mahoning and Bonair avenues.
He is charged with aggravated robbery and driving under suspension and is in Mahoning County Justice Center awaiting arraignment.
