Area chop shop suspect indicted by grand jury
A minor fire triggered the probe of the alleged chop shop.
YOUNGSTOWN A Mahoning County grand jury has indicted a 74-year-old man accused of running a chop shop on Market Street on 17 counts of receiving stolen property.
The grand jury returned the indictment Thursday against Roosevelt Lewis, of Shehy Street, who was arrested in May after police said they found stolen vehicles and parts of stolen vehicles in what appeared to be a vacant business at 2007 Market St.
A minor fire at the building May 6 led to an investigation that showed the building, which Lewis had rented for about 10 years, was being used as a chop shop, authorities said.

Roberta A. Dangelo, 51, of Fifth Street, Struthers, heroin possession.
Tammy L. Woods, 35, of Main Street, Canfield, or Meadowbrook Avenue, Boardman, forgery.
Jeremiah Mace, 24, of South Avenue, Boardman, and Thomas Wydick, 36, of East Calla Road, Poland, theft and breaking and entering.
Charles C. Richardson, 23, of Alameda Avenue, cocaine possession with a forfeiture specification and improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle.
Kenny Smith, 36, of Trumbull Avenue, Girard, cocaine possession.
Desmond Cochrane, 29, of Hammaker Street, drug possession.
Doreen McCarthy, 44, of East Midlothian Boulevard, misdemeanor domestic violence.
Tori Tucker, 21, of West Princeton Avenue, carrying concealed weapons.
Kenneth Banks, 26, of Gray Street, cocaine possession.
Robert T. Courtney, 35, of St. Andrews Drive, C2anfield, receiving stolen property.
