WYETH LECTURES At the Butler



The Butler Institute of American Art will hold several programs in connection with the opening of the Wyeth exhibition. All programs are free, but reservations are recommended. Call (330) 743-1107, Ext.: 210.

FRIDAY and SATURDAY, 1 p.m.: Victoria Wyeth, on "Andrew Wyeth and the Lure of 'Christina's World.'" Victoria Browning Wyeth, Andrew Wyeth's only grandchild, will reveal the intriguing stories about his relationship with the Olson family and will trace the development of several powerful images that were created at their home, including "Christina's World."

OCT. 21, 2 p.m.: Dr. Louis Zona: "Wyeth in Context: The Continuum of American Realism."

The director of the Butler looks at the great American tradition of realist painting.

NOV. 4, 1 p.m.: Thomas McNickle: "Andrew Wyeth, Master Painter." McNickle, a well-known regional artist, will share an analysis of the composition and discuss the techniques used by Wyeth.

SUNDAYS (at 1 p.m., beginning Sept. 23) and WEDNESDAYS (at 5 p.m., beginning Sept. 26): Documentary films about the Wyeth American art dynasty. Series runs through Nov. 18.
