Warner/YouTube deal

SAN FRANCISCO — Warner Music Group Corp. has agreed to distribute and license its copyrighted songs and other material through online video trendsetter YouTube Inc.

Under a revenue-sharing deal announced Monday, New York-based Warner Music has agreed to transfer thousands of its music videos and interviews to YouTube, a San Mateo, Calif.-based startup. Perhaps even more important for YouTube is that Warner Music has agreed to license its songs to the millions of ordinary people who upload their homemade videos to the Web site.

Home Depot hiring

ATLANTA — The Home Depot Inc., the nation's largest home improvement store chain, says it is hiring more than 1,000 new employees across the country as part of its latest effort to improve its stores.

The Atlanta-based company said in a hiring advisory it issued Monday that it is seeking in particular applicants with specialty, skilled trades and professional contracting backgrounds for full-time and part-time jobs in numerous departments.

Owens Corning ruling

PITTSBURGH — A federal bankruptcy judge indicated Monday she approved of Owens Corning's plan for emerging from bankruptcy, more than five years after the building materials maker sought protection from creditors over health claims related to its asbestos products.
