It’s a new year with a new coach, but it’s the same old story for Southern Local High. Head – sort of. Coach Mike Skrinjar said the team will utilize a lot of its former offensive and defensive philosophies as it has in the past. He said the offense will throw more and be a “run and gun” team. He said he hopes to use his team’s size and athleticism to their advantage. Speaking of size, the Indians will return massive offensive lineman Jason Miller. Miller, 6-foot-5, 330 pounds, will return to his guard position. The behemoth will open holes for a trio of seniors at tailback. Josh Melhorn, Brett Hunt and Michael Hipsley will all split time, as will junior Zack Puckett, in the backfield.
