After a 2-0 start last season, the Tigers' season was derailed in Week 3 when they missed a week of practice and saw their game against Windham postponed due to a teachers strike. But a 4-6 finish, combined with 17 returning starters, gives Lazzari reason to hope this season could be a winning one. Eric Kline (RB/WR/DB), Anthony Kline (RB/WR/DB) and John Davis (RB/LB) key the skill positions while Steve Page anchors a strong line on both sides of the ball. In addition, Newton Falls' sophomores went undefeated as freshmen, so there's good talent moving up the ranks. The Tigers probably can't yet compete for a league title, but they're moving in the right direction.
