About the Owner
Denny Bilas, PT, has been a practicing physical therapist for over 22 years. A 1982 graduate of the Ohio State University, he has extensive experience in the treatment of musculoskeletal problems, particularly those of the spine and temporomandibular joint. He was co-owner of Advanced Physical Therapy, established in 1990. His clinical area of interest is finding and treating musculoskeletal dysfunction with manual therapy and corrective exercises, improving the body?s efficiency in function, and subsequent pain relief.

I had a back injury back in December of 2006-they said it was sprain/strain...since this time I have had back pain w/execessive bending, standing, twisting, etc...with numbness and tingling going down my right leg...I went to see another doctor in February and he told me I had a herniated disc...he did an xray...my 1st question is could the results of the mri and emg have been wrong? If not...could this herniated disc be result of the trauma that occurred to my back when I fell?? Another question is I am not receiving treatment for this...it is a workers compensation thing...pending approval...can I make this herniated disc? Because it sure feels like it when I am working...I now get numbness down both legs...along with very bad back pain and a lot of muscle spasms.

Type your response here The symptoms and diagnosis appear to be fairly accurate, caused by the fall, most likely, however, there is probably a giid chance that the disc had gradually started weakening prior to the incident. With a good evaluation and proper treatment, I feel that there is a fairly good chance for recovery.Sherri asked this on September 11, 2009
